COCHIN-MUNNAR-ALLEPPEY-KOVALAM

Introduction:

Kerala is a popular destination for both domestic as well as foreign tourists. Kerala is well known for its beaches, backwaters in Alappuzha and Kollam, mountain ranges and wildlife sanctuaries. Other popular attractions in the state include the beaches at Kovalam, Muzhappilangad, Bekal and Kappad; backwater tourism and lake resorts around Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam hill stations and resorts atMunnar,Wayanad,Nelliampathi, Vagamon and Ponmudi; and national parks and wildlife sanctuaries at Wayanad, Periyar, Parambikulam, Silent Valley National Park and Eravikulam National Park. The “backwaters” region—an extensive network of interlocking rivers, lakes, and canals that centre on Vembanad Lake, also see heavy tourist traffic. Heritage sites, such as the Padmanabhapuram Palace, Hill Palace, and Mattancherry Palace, are also visited.

Kerala is one of the most beautiful places to visit at any time of the year. It is believed that December to February are the best months to visit.

Tour programme:

Day 1-Arrival Kochi

Arrive in Kochi and transfer to the hotel. Check into the hotel and enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Late in the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of Kochi visiting the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue and see the Chinese fishing nets on the harbour. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2-Kochi – Munnar (135kms/4hrs)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive to Munnar, a beautiful hill station. Arrive by the afternoon. Check into the hotel and enjoy rest of the day at leisure or one can go and explore the local market. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3-Munnar

After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Munnar visiting the Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Old Munnar Town and the town market. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4-Munnar – Alleppey (150 Kms/4.5hrs)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive to Alleppey and arrive by the afternoon, Check into the hotel and enjoy rest of the day at leisure or take an optional cruise on the backwaters. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5-Alleppey – Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum (190kms/4.5hrs)

After a delicious breakfast, drive from Alleppey and reach Kovalam. Kovalam the beach town located by the beautiful Arabian sea can be found situated within the boundaries of Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala. As you reach Kovalam, check into the resort. Unwind and revive already heavily ornate crown of Kovalam. Later proceed to visit Lighthouse Beach one of the main attractions, and Samudra Beach which is the Jewel in the already heavily ornate crown of Kovalam. After exploring Kovalam, let’s get back to the hotel through picture perfect scenery.

Day 6-Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum Excursion to Kanyakumari

After breakfast, visit Shri Padmanabhswamy Temple & Napier Museum. After sightseeing we will drive further to Kanyakumari and visit Kanyakumari Temple and Vivekananda Rock Memorial. After visiting the attractions, you will be driven back to the hotel for a comfortable stay.

Day 7-Depart Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive to Trivandrum airport/railway station for your onward journey.
