LEH – KARGIL – NUBRA VALLEY – PANGONG

DAY 01: ARRIVAL LEH
(Situated at a height of 12,500 FT /3.500 Meter above The Sea Level)
Upon arrival at the airport, one of our representatives will meet you and will set off to hotel
in the heart of theย Leh Town, rest for the day & acclimatize to the high altitude of Ladakh.
During day or evening, you will meet our representative who will introduce you to the
highlights of the entire tour. In the evening, you will take a walk to Market and visit Shanti
Stupa on the hill to get a panoramic view of Leh town. Overnight Hotel in Leh.

DAY 02: LEH โ€“ KARGIL (235 KM)
Early morning breakfast & drive to Kargil, enroute visiting Lamayuru Monastery – The
Lamayuru Monastery is one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in Ladakh. It is
perched at a high altitude of 3,511 metres above sea level. Apart from being one of the largest
monasteries in all of Ladakh, this Tibetan Buddhist monastery is also the oldest gompa in the
region and is known as โ€œthe place of freedomโ€ or โ€œTharpa Ling". Reach there by lunch time.
Check in at hotel, after lunch Visit the Vijay Smarak (war memorial of Drass-Kargil) at Drass
and return to Kargil. Night stay at Kargil.

DAY 03: KARGIL โ€“ LEH – VIA ARYAN VALLEY (270 KM)
After an early breakfast leave for Leh via Batalik route enroute visiting Aryan valley villages
like Garkone, Dah, Hanu lies in North-East of Ladakh, about 80km drive from kargil &
160km from Leh town. These people are variously described as descendants of the wandering
troops of Alexander of Macedonia, or the direct descendants of a pure Indo-Aryan tribe. After
visiting the villages, reach Leh by evening visiting Sangam (the confluence Indus and
Zanskar Rivers, Magnetic Hill. Overnight in Hotel Leh.

DAY 04: LEH – NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA (127KM)
After breakfast drive towards to Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la ((The Highest
Motorable Road in the World alt: 5602Mts/18390Ft). After descending from the pass, Nubra
Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the north of
Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Arrive at Hunder &
check in at Hotel/Camps. Later visit Diskit Monastery & the Sand Dunes where you can
enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on
direct payment). Overnight in Hotel/Camp.

DAY 05: NUBRA VALLEY โ€“ TURTUK (ONE DAY) (160 KM)
After breakfast drive to Turtuk village lies 80 km away from Hunder. Visit Dhothang (LOC)
border view of Pakistan. Turtuk is one of the northernmost villages in India; it was under
Pakistan's control until 1971. The residents of Turtuk and its adjoining villages speak Balti
language along with Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost of India at Dhothang after
which Pakistan-controlled Gilgit Baltistan begins. Turtuk is known for its varieties of fruits
especially apricot. Return to hunder by evening. Overnight at Hotel in Hunder.

DAY 06: NUBRA VALLEY โ€“ PANGONG LAKE VIA SHYOK (163 KM)
After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake via Shayok. Along the route, enjoy the scenic views
of Shayok River & Karakoram Range. This route has few water crossings mainly in the
month of June & July, to avoid these you need to leave early from Nubra. Reach Pangong
Lake by afternoon. The lake is world highest saltwater lake situated at an elevation of 4,225
m. extending to almost 130 km long, 1/3 of its lies in India and 2/3 in China). Check in at
camp/hotel in Pangong.
NOTE: THIS ROUTE HAS FEW WATER CROSSINGS, MAINLY IN THE MONTH OF JUNE & JULY.
LEAVE EARLY MORNING FROM NUBRA VALLEY TO AVOID ROUTE BLOCKS.

DAY 07: PANGONG TO LEH VIA CHANGLA PASS (153 KM)
After breakfast, leave for Leh riding across another one of the highest motor able road in the
world, Chang La Pass at an elevation of 5360 M โ€“. Enroute visiting Shey Palace, Hemis
Monastery & Thiksey Monastery. Reach Leh by afternoon/evening, check in at Hotel.

DAY 08: DEPARTURE
Concludes. Our teams thank you for your patronage and ensure a punctual drop to Airport to
catch the flight for your onward Destination.
