NAINITAL – JIM CORBETT PARK

Introduction:

Kumaon or Kumaun is one of the two regions and administrative divisions of Uttarakhand, a mountainous state of northern India, the other being Garhwal. It includes the districts of Almora,Bageshwar,Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar. It is bounded on the north by Tibet, on the east by Nepal, on the south by the state of Uttar Pradesh, and on the west by the Garhwal region. The people of Kumaon are known as Kumaonis and speak the Kumaoni language.

Kumaon best time to visit:

  • October to December and March to May are the best months to visit Kumaon. While January and February are good for those who wish to experience snowfalls. June is quite hot, while July onwards, Kumaon receives lots of rains which makes commuting quite difficult in the area.

Tour programme:

Day 1-Pickup From Lalkuan/Kathgudam station &  Transfer to Nainital hotel,Distance 50km(approx 2hrs).Night stay at Nainital. 

Day 2-Today take a cable car to experience to snow view point, which offers a picturesque view of the mighty Himalayas. Visit Nainadevi Temple, an ancient Hindu Temple and enjoy boating at Naini Lake. Free time for shopping in the evening.Night stay at Nainital.

Day 3-Proceed to Ranikhet. Visit Kaichi Temple, Pass by Kumaon Regiment Shahid Smarak and Golf Course in Ranikhet.Night stay at Nainital.

Day 4-Today visit Ghodakhal Bell temple followed by a Lake tour of Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal. Take a memorable boat ride in Naukuchiatal. Proceed to Jim Corbett National Park. The magical landscape of Corbett is well known and fabled for its tiger richness. Established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India’s oldest and most prestigious National Park. Arrive in Jim Corbett National Park.Night stay at Jim Corbett hotel.

Day 5-Morning experience the most thrilling Jeep safari adventure of wildlife viewing in the region of ‘Man eaters of Kumaon’. You may spot the Royal Bengal Tiger, Deer, Indian Hog Deer, Sambar Deer, Otter, Asiatic Black Bear, Sloth Bear, etc. Enjoy nature walk and live Guitar performance in the evening.Night stay at Jim Corbett.

Day 6-Proceed to Kathgodam. Board the train for your home town.
